  Great service, Norma we great!!!!!
  Great beer !! We got here and she was very nice with great service and real fast!!!
  And it was a big group of 10 coming from Puerto Rico

  I should looked this place up before deciding to come have breakfast but I figured "It's breakfast, what can go wrong?"
  
  Well to answer that question is, you can screw up breakfast, even a simple croissant with scrambled eggs and sausage. Two tiny sausage that disappear in the croissant, very undercooked eggs and a stale croissant.
  
  Service, for as much it existed, was awful. I never received a refill of water and when I wanted to pay, my credit card on the bar already for 5 minutes, I had to literally wave to the staff because they were with 4 people congregating at the other end of the bar, staring at the television

  Let's be honest... 99% of airport food is overpriced and underwhelming. However, I must say I was pleasantly satisfied with my recent experience at Islander Bar & Grill. My 5 year old and I needed a quick meal for dinner
  before our flight and decided to stop here.
  
  We were seated right away, and our server was very friendly. I had the kale Cesar salad topped with grilled mahi, and my son had the kids chicken fingers with fries. My salad came out, and I realized it had bacon in it. (I don't eat meat.) I hadn't read the menu description fully, so this was my fault. The server was happy to change it out for me without issue. I actually was quite happy with my meal. For an airport dinner, it was one of the better ones I'd had. Just a couple months prior, I had spent double the price at a fancier airport establishment, and both my food and drinks were not good. My son's chicken fingers looked overly breaded and deep fried, but expected.
  
  Best of all, double Tito's and sodas were only $16!! That's a steal, especially in Miami. I'd definitely come back here if I had to go to an airport restaurant in Gate D at MIA.

  Needed to eat between flights and this restaurant happened to be in front of our gate.  Nothing to write home about but edible. Of course prices were typical airport inflated.
  As other yelpers have stated they do include an 18% "suggested" tip and add it to the total.  Be aware to not fill in the tip line (or zero it out for good measure) of the the credit card slip you sign if you are ok with the tip amount and don't want to give more - otherwise pay cash.  We were fortunate to sit at the bar and had a nice bartender lady take care of us.
  (I must note I did notice her co-working male bartender made a point to only acknowledge and take care of the male customers who sat at the bar  He blatantly ignored me when I tried to get his attention to order but happily checked on my husband siting beside me.)
  It worked but shop around for other options.

  I came to the gate with time to spare but there was a delay on the flight. The passengers were in an up roar. Instead of becoming agitated, I went a cross the walkway and sat down comfortably and ordered an appetizers and hot tea!!
  
  The service was quick. The serves were pleasant and efficient! I ask if they get this all the time they said no but when they do they are ready for the customers!
